About 7.8 million vehicles are under a recall for dangerous defective airbags. This defect can result in serious injury or death for front seat passengers, because the airbags can eject metal shards at a person during deployment.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a consumer advisory in late October, urging car owners to take action on getting these airbags replaced.
