Two Separate School Bus Crashes in Orlando in One Day

On the same day in Orlando, one bus crashed into a pond and another was in a collision with an SUV. These two school bus crashes put the lives of 38 children in danger.

The School Bus in the Pond

The wheels on the bus went round and round until they found themselves underwater recently. On the 17th of this month, the driver of a Bryant Elementary school bus went off road and into a nearby pond. The bus was carrying 27 children and the driver.

The bus was almost 20 feet into the pond but only a few feet deep. Luckily, nobody was seriously harmed by the crash and all were able to escape relatively unscathed. Local news channel Fox 35 reported that there was still no information regarding the cause for the crash.

Parents of the children say that the overturned bus is one of three that transports kids in the area to and from school. The name of the driver has not been released and no charges have yet been filed against him or her. The Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office is investigating further and might be looking for another driver that may have forced the bus to run off the road.

The School Bus and the SUV

On the same day as the story above, another bus was involved in a car accident in Orlando that sent six children to the hospital.

The West Academy school bus was waiting at a red light when it was hit from behind by an SUV. There were 11 children on the bus at the time, six of whom were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV was ticketed for careless driving, but did not sustain any serious injury.
