Drunk Driving Mother Could Have Caused Serious Harm

At 12:30 a.m. on June 11, a 24-year-old mother was found asleep in her car by Daytona Beach police, with her two children, 1 and 3 years old, in the backseat.

According to the ClickOrlando.com report on the incident, a Daytona Beach police officer discovered one open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle’s center console by looking through the car window and discovered another unopened bottle upon opening the door of the car to wake the mother, who was sleeping in the driver’s seat.

Officers at the scene said emergency crews were called when the woman would not wake up, and she later failed a sobriety test and was arrested for DUI.
