How Was Deadpool Involved in a Recent Truck Accident?

Deadpool is wrecking box office records across the world right now; highest grossing rated R film, biggest February box office opening, and more. Apparently, he’s wrecking more than just ticket sales.

A Diamond Comic Distributors semi-truck was recently hit by another truck and overturned onto the highway, spilling all of its precious cargo; thousands of Deadpool comic books on their way to comic shops and into the hands of children and grown-up fans alike.

Luckily, nobody was injured, a rare occurrence when the “Merc with the Mouth” is involved. The truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution and crews began cleaning up the road (pocketing an issue of the new comic for later reading, I’m sure).

The truck accident may not have directly cause an injury, but it does raise other concerns. Debris and scattered products from truck accidents or truck blowouts pose a serious danger to other drivers.

What If Road Debris Causes a Car Accident?

If a car accident is caused by debris left in the road after a truck accident, or by some cargo that has fallen off a truck (Deadpool comics or boxes perhaps), then the company who owns the truck, or the clean-up crews may be found liable for damages if there was negligence involved.

For example, if the cargo of a semi-truck is not properly secured, falls off and causes a car accident, then the driver would likely have a case for negligence. Similarly, if a clean-up crew or a truck driver intentionally leaves debris on the road, they too, along with their employer, could be found liable.
