Dashcam Captures Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident in Orlando

In a video of a hit-and-run bicycle accident captured by a Florida motorist’s personal dashcam, another motorist can be seen knocking down a cyclist and driving away afterward. The hit and run accident occurred around 6 p.m. on June 4, according to a news report by Local 6 in Orlando that was featured in an article on ClickOlrando.com.

The errant motorist, driving a blue sedan in the right-most lane of traffic, passes by a cyclist riding in the bicycle lane before turning right into a parking lot, cutting directly in front of the cyclist. The rear of the sedan strikes the front tire of the cyclist’s bike, and the impact of the hit knocks the cyclist to the ground, and the driver of the sedan continues driving away.

Were you a Victim in a Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident?

Hit-and-run bicycle accidents involving motor vehicles can be extremely dangerous, and often deadly, to the cyclist. Are you or someone you know suffering from serious bicycle injuries? People hit by a car while riding a bike are at risk for all types of serious physical harm, like broken bones, spinal injuries, road rash, and brain injuries.

In cases like the one above where the accident is actually caught on camera, there is a higher chance that the motorist can be successfully brought to trial in a criminal court. And while victims cannot pursue financial compensation in criminal cases, they can speak to a personal injury lawyer, even before the criminal case itself is closed and whether or not the motorist is found guilty on criminal charges.
