On June 25, a 70-year-old woman died after her car drifted into oncoming traffic and struck a garbage truck head-on, according to a clickorlando.com report.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said it was not clear as to why the woman drove into the garbage truck and that alcohol was not a factor in the wreck.
The two people in the garbage truck were not injured, according to the troopers quoted in the news report.
Liability in Car Accidents Involving Senior Drivers
Have you ever wondered if you would you be liable for a car accident caused by your senior-age parent or relative?
The answer depends on whether or not your actions contributed to the accident. If you owned the vehicle that the senior drove in the accident, you may be liable for any damage caused in the accident that involved your automobile, even if you were nowhere near the scene when it happened.
This is the concept of negligent entrustment. Just as with a younger teenage driver, you could be held liable for damages caused by someone you lent or gave a vehicle to.

Victims of Car Accidents Caused by a Senior Driver Should Consult a Personal Injury Attorney
If you or someone in your family is hurt in a car accident caused by a senior driver, you may be entitled to damages from the party that lent or gave the car to the senior due to negligent entrustment. A personal injury attorney can help you determine who is liable for the harm caused to you or your loved ones.
